Kiwanis Pit Bike Raffle to benefit local family
Posted: Tuesday, Jul 22, 2008 - 03:05:07 pm EDT

The Mt. Carmel Kiwanis Club is pleased to announce that a Pit Bike Raffle, which is going to be held at the Kiwanis Motocross at the Wabash County Fair, will benefit the family of Ashley Lynn of Mt. Carmel.

Ashley suffers from both Cerebral Palsy and Epilepsy. She is the 2-year-old daughter of Jesse and Rebecca Lynn of Mt. Carmel.

A “Pit Bike” is a small motorcycle with a 50cc motor, used by many moto-cross teams to drive around pit areas. They are also beginner motorcycles for many young riders. The Pit Bike that is going to be raffled at the Kiwanis Moto-Cross was made possible by a donation from Wabash Valley Service Company.

Because of their donation, 100 percent of the ticket sales from the raffle will benefit the Lynn family. In the two years Kiwanis has sponsored the MotoCross, over $2,500 has been raised through the Pit Bike Raffle to benefit local families.

Raffle tickets are available now from Dan Schonert State Farm and will also be sold the night of the event. The Lynn family, Jesse and Rebecca, daughter Ashley, son Zachary and granddaughter Madelyn, will be guests of the Kiwanis Club at Wednesday night’s Moto-Cross.

The Moto-Cross races will begin at 6 p.m. at Mabel Courter 4-H Center in Mt. Carmel.
