Center features new treatment

Alka Family Chiropractic Center in Mt. Carmel will celebrate its seventh anniversary in business on Monday, Dec. 1. In honor of the occasion, members of the community are invited to stop in, 415 Walnut St., for an Open House. Refreshments will be available, along with information about the center’s newest treatment, a detoxifying foot bath called Ion Cleanse. Alka Family Chiropractic Center is marking seven years in business in Mt. Carmel with an Open House, as well as the addition of a new detoxification treatment.

Chiropractic Center owner Dr. Kay Lynn Alka said she is very pleased with how her practice has grown since opening the location at 415 Walnut St. in 2001.

“I can’t believe it’s been seven years,” said Dr. Alka. “But things are wonderful — business couldn’t be better, and we’re still growing, thriving.”

She explained that the “family” in Alka Family Chiropractic Center’s title has always been the most important her, because she thinks of her patients like family, and she attributes the success of her business to that “patient family.”

Alka will be hosting an Open House on Monday, Dec. 1, at her center to celebrate the office’s seven year anniversary. Members of the community are invited to stop in for refreshments.

Also in honor of her seventh anniversary, Dr. Alka has acquired a new treatment called the “Ion Cleanse,” which is a detoxifying foot bath that purifies the body through the electrolysis of the water.

Alka says she is not “a big product person,” but has seen the positive results of this treatment on others, as well as felt them herself.

“This is just one of those things I feel can benefit everyone,” said Alka. “The way you feel after this detox treatment is like a massage — times 100.”

According to the Ion Cleanse Web site, “eliminating toxins is the first step in giving the body a chance to heal itself, and detoxification is fundamental to any health building program.”

Dr. Alka says that a person’s “energy skyrockets, and they feel much lighter and healthier” following the treatment.
