A benefit is to be held for Luke Rhinehart on Saturday at the Mt. Carmel Moose Lodge, beginning at 4 p.m.
Rhinehart suffers from Perthes Disease, a form of childhood arthritis of the hip. Perthes Disease occurs in children and is characterized as a loss of blood supply to the ball portion of the hip joint. The disease can be very painful, but the long-term prognosis is good for children with this condition. Most will completely recover over time with proper treatment.
The benefit for Luke Rhinehart will take place Saturday at the Mt. Carmel Moose Lodge and will include a fish fry, which is scheduled to begin at 4 p.m., an auction, raffle and music beginning at 6 p.m. The cost to attend the fundraiser is $10 for adults and $3 for children 12 and under.
