A Mt. Carmel woman was taken to the hospital for treatment and a local teen was ticketed for failure to yield after a two-vehicle accident in Mt. Carmel Thursday.

The accident happened just before noon at the corner of 6th and Pear streets, where Mt. Carmel police said a westbound 1995 Geo entered the intersection at the same time as a southbound 2005 Pontiac.

Lisel A. Morgan, 48, of Mt. Carmel was behind the wheel of the Pontiac, whose driver's side front corner was struck by the Geo's passenger side front corner, police said.

Morgan was taken to Wabash General Hospital by the Wabash General Ambulance Service for treatment after the accident.

Police did not release the identity of the 16-year-old male who drove the Geo. They said he was citied for failure to yield after the accident.

Both vehicles were driven away from the scene of Thursday's accident.
