Members of the Wabash County Board of Commissioners agreed unanimously this week to reappoint three residents to the Wabash General Hospital Board of Directors.
Following a 10-minute executive session to discuss a property acquisition matter with hospital representatives, the board Monday night appointed Dave Roberts, Rob Coleman and Mike White to three-year terms on the hospital board.
No votes were taken regarding the property acquisition topic discussed in the closed session at the Wabash County Courthouse.
In other business this week, Wabash County Treasurer Larry Briggs reminded property owners that the second installment of property taxes is due Nov. 20.
County Engineer Dustin Bunting reported work has begun this week to construct a bridge in Road District 6. Meanwhile, recent rains have hindered efforts to perform mowing tasks; Bunting said the fall round of mowing should be completed in about a week.
Some other topics from Monday's regular meeting:
• The board says it will try to look into a road district matter near Patton, where a rusted metal culvert is collapsing, threatening a lane off of 1300 Road, near the Allendale Gravel site. Property owner John Riley said Allendale firefighters responding to car accident in that area about two months ago parked a fire truck filled with water on the road above that culvert, causing the rusting structure to crack. Since then, heavy rains have done their job to wash sediment through, causing the culvert to begin to shift. The lane, which leads to private river camps, could become impassable, Riley explained, and the change in water flow is a threat to neighboring areas.
Board Chairman Charles Sanders noted it sounded like the problem was a road district matter, but he agreed to look into it to see what might be done.
Road Districts in Wabash County are separate taxing bodies; they are not governed by the county board.
• Commissioner Craig Racster said he recently attended a risk management meeting in Bloomington with the county's insurance provider, and will submit quotes to the county clerk.

• County Clerk Angela Crum reported collecting $45,720.48 in the month of October. These sums include court fee disbursements: Clerk, $7,801.91; Automation, $1,143.53; Court - $1,928.95; Law Library, $520; Judicial Security, $3,191.34; Probation - $6,141.81; Document Storage - $1,151; County Fee - $1,939.48; Medical Costs - $496.41; Youth Diversion - $351.50; County Criminal and Juvenile, $5,766.37; County Traffic, $3,543.37; Animal Control, $20; Clerk Add-Ons, $137
