PETERSBURG (AP) - A Pike County man is in custody after authorities say bomb-making supplies were found in his basement.

Kerry Thomas has been jailed without bond on charges of possession of an explosive device and possession of an explosive device with intent to kill.

The materials were discovered during a search of the 46-year-old Thomas' property for evidence related to the death of Patrick King of Winslow, who was reported missing in November 1995. Investigators say the search revealed nothing linked to King's death.

But Chief Deputy Sheriff Jeremy Britton says Thomas's wife Mindy Burnfin and a second person told police that Thomas planned to blow up a courtroom if he was convicted of charges including criminal confinement and battery.

That trial, which is unrelated to King's death, was to begin Wednesday.
