OWENSVILLE - Wayne Tichenor Couch, 99, passed away Friday, Oct. 30, 2009 at Transcendent Health Care of Owensville.

Born May 31, 1910, he was the son of George and Elsie (Tichenor) Couch.

Wayne was a great outdoorsman. He loved fishing, sharp shooting and woodworking. His building skills are found all over the tri-state, leaving a great legacy.

Wayne had a civil deferment during WWII. He tested ammunition for the war department and worked on airplanes.

Survivors include his wife Dorothea (Murphy) Couch who he married in December 1953; daughters, Sue Sims of Lexington, Ky., Patricia (Bill) Knowles of Owensville; four grandchildren, Stephanie Durbin, Erin Knowles, Todd Sims, Rhonda Hall; and seven great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Eugenia Marvel in 1949; brothers, Arthur and Melvin; and an infant daughter, Kay Ellen Couch in December of 1954.

Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Nov 3, 2009 at Holders Funeral Home in Owensville with Donnie Mobley officiating.

Burial will be in the Bethel Cemetery.

Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Tri-State Multiple Sclerosis Association or to the Susan B. Komen Foundation.
