SANDBORN - Jack J. Hurst, 74, passed away on Tuesday Nov. 3, 2009 at his home in Sandborn.
He was born on Jan. 1, 1935 in Princeton to Jess and Helen (Davis) Hurst.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, James Hurst and Jess Hurst Jr.
He lived in Sandborn since 1997, moving there from Oakland City. He worked for Whirlpool Corp. in Evansville. He also served in the U.S. Air Force for 10 years, part of which was during the Korean War. Jack was a member of the VFW, American Legion and the Eagles.
Jack is survived by his four sons, Steven Hurst of Marion, Ill., David Hurst of Crawfordsville, Michael Hurst of Sandborn, Brent Brazier of Illinois; three daughters, Cathy Brooks of Canada, Susie Boyle of Oakland City, Lori Cox of Winslow; 20 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and a sister, Vonda Collins of Vincennes.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday Nov. 5, 2009 at Colvin Funeral Home in Princeton with Pastor Greg Davis officiating. Burial will follow at the Columbia "White" Church Cemetery in Princeton.
Visitation will be from noon until service time on Thursday at the funeral home. VFW Post 1147 will provide full military rites at the cemetery.
