Two senior veterans, and a quartet with two promising years ahead.

This is the Daily Clarion 2009 All-Gibson County Girls' Golf Team.

The veterans are two-time Gibson County Tournament medalist Allie Staggs of Gibson Southern, and three-time regional qualifier Rashel Blaize of Wood Memorial.

The sophomore quartet includes Alyssa Woehler and Morgan Kelley of Gibson Southern's regional-qualifying team, plus Taylor Holley and Shelby Pinkstaff of Princeton Community.

Staggs, third baseman and backup pitcher for Gibson Southern's Class 3A Final Four softball team last spring, came within five shots of qualifying for the state golf meet when she whot a 45-41-86 in the Sept. 26 Evansville Regional on the Eagle Valley course in McCutchanville.

She repeated as Gibson County medaalist by shooting 45 at Cambridge, finished second in the Pocket Athletic Conference Championships by shooting 48-41-89 at Oakland City, and shot 47-47-94 in helping Gibson Southern place third in the sectional at Bicknell Country Club and advance to regional.

Staggs' 45.7 average per nine-hole round came while playing home matches at Cambridge, toughest home course of any Gibson County team.

Blaize, despite tendinitis in her right arm and elbow, pain that forced her to wear padding, advanced from sectional to regional a third time by shooting 43-47-90 at Bicknell in the North Knox Sectional. That earned the sectional's third individual ticket to Eagle Valley, where her 47-44-91 marked a 10-shot improvement over her 2008 regional score.

Her 51 at Cambridge placed second to Staggs in the county meet.

Kelley, averaging 51.7 strokes per nine, rebounded from a 54-50-104 in the PAC meet to shoot a team-leading 43-48-91 in the sectional run that made the Lady Titans' regional qualifiers for the first time in their school's three years of distaff golf.

Woehler averaged 53.9 shots per nine, including a 53 that bropught third place individually in thye county. She shot 52-51-105 in the PAC and 51-51-102 in the regional.

Holley averaged 51 strokes a nine, including a fourth-place 54 in the county meet. She led Princeton by shooting 44-42-86 in the Big Eight meet in Evansville and again with a 50-48-98 at sectional.

Pinkstaff shot a 56 in the county meet, then became the Lady Tigers' second scorer at Big Eight with a 54-48-102 and at sectional with a 48-56-104.
