After attending Evansville United Freedom Makers meetings, Warrick County members thought it was time to organize their own meeting closer to home.

The Newburgh Civitan Zombie Farm recently opened its doors, continuing the 35-year tradition of haunting for charity. As a joint project of Newburgh Civitan and Newburgh Junior Civitan, this haunted house benefits the community by providing horrifically good entertainment, as well as raising proceeds to benefit other non-profits.

St. Mary's Warrick Wellness Center, located on the hospital campus in Boonville, is recognizing the unique needs of the older adults in the community by partnering with the nationally recognized Healthways SilverSneakers Fitness Program.

This is Karissa, one of a pair of identical pups at the Warrick Humane Society. She is about three and a half months old, so she and her brother will be big dogs as adults. Karissa is a puppy, so training is a must. The fee to adopt is $100 each, a discounted price is available to adopt both. They are tested for heartworms, vaccinated, spay/neutered, microchipped and treated for fleas/ticks prior to adoption.
