Two men were arrested recently for allegedly operating a methamphetamine lab out of a Newburgh apartment complex.
The occupant, Sean Enlow, 21, and his cousin, David Badger, 18, of Evansville were arrested at the residence on Saturday, March 17.
Investigating officers from the Warrick County Sheriff's Department arrived at the Riverwind Apartment complex, off Pollack Avenue, in response to a chemical odor that was reported.
After receiving consent from Enlow to search the apartment, officers discovered a small working meth lab.
Along with items and precursors commonly associated with the manufacturing of methamphetamine, officers also uncovered syringes.
Enlow was charged with maintaining a common nuisance, a class D felony, possession of a schedule II substance, a class D felony, possession of precursors, a class D felony, possession of a syringe, a class D felony and manufacturing methamphetamine within 1,000 feet of a housing unit, a class A felony.
Badger was charged with visiting a common nuisance, a misdemeanor, and possession of a schedule II substance, a class D felony.
They were held at the Warrick County Jail on bond.
"It is extremely dangerous to operate a meth lab, especially in an apartment complex," said Sheriff Marvin Heilman. "It poses a great danger to nearby occupants due to the volatile nature of the chemicals that are used during the manufacturing of meth. We encourage the public to report any suspicious odors or activities."
